Steve Hubbard, a noted expert in letterpress printing and publishing, will be visiting the English department and TTU April 1 and 2. On April 2, he will give two public talks on his passion, letterpress machinery and printing. All are welcome to attend the talks. The first talk, “Historical Letterpress Machinery and Printing,” will be at noon in English 106 and the second talk, “Letterpress Printing: Past and Present,” will be at 5pm in English 106. Both talks will be followed by Q&A.
The LPL is happy to welcome Chris Bex of the Remnant Trust for a tour of the press.
If you are interested in beginning or continuing the Letterpress Lab’s apprenticeship program, you must complete the safety training modules on the Texas Tech University’s Division of Environmental Health & Safety website, as specified in the LPL Handbook.
Once you have completed all of the OHS training modules and passed all their tests, email a copy of the certificate to letterpress [at] ttu [dot] edu. You will then be sent instructions for enrolling in the Letterpress Lab’s Moodle to begin the LPL Apprenticeship program.
